The secrets to plus-size wedding dress shopping

7 things you need to know to make the process much easier.

1. Made-to-measure

If you find yourself at the larger end of the size chart spectrum then you may find that an off-the-rack wedding dress in a standard size will not fit you well, without extensive (and expensive) size adjustments.

This is where our made-to-measure service comes to your rescue. We can make any of our dresses to your measurements, even if you live interstate or overseas and can't make it to our studio for a fitting.

2. Natural fibres

Breathable fabrics such as cotton, silk and linen will allow you to dance the night away without feeling sweaty.

Our top priority is comfort. You won't hear us recommending that you don shapewear (Spanx are not nearly as much fun as the name would suggest). Our dresses are made from the softest cotton lace, with a gentle stretch that will accommodate a variety of body shapes.

3. Low neckline

Whether you only want to show a little cleavage or a lot, lower necklines tend to be flattering for a larger bust. A made-to-measure dress will allow us to position your neckline exactly where you feel comfortable, and to position your bust darts exactly where they need to be (is it normal for one of my bosoms to be bigger than the other two?).

4. Flared skirt

A flared hemline will balance out broad shoulders, a larger bust or wide hips. A skirt that loosely skims the tummy and hips will be flattering and comfortable when dancing and when sitting. We can even add secret pockets to your skirt (to hide snacks from your partner).

5. Waistband

A made-to-measure gown will allow us to carefully position a waistband to gently cinch you in, and accentuate the narrowest part of your torso.
